Museum Visiting Rules

1. General Provisions

1.1. These rules are aimed at ensuring order and safety when visiting the museums of the "National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve" (hereinafter referred to as the Museum-Reserve), improving the service of visitors and are obligatory for implementation.
1.2. These rules are developed in accordance with the Civil Code of the Republic of Belarus and the "Code of the Republic of Belarus ab culture" dated 20.07.2016. No. 413-З.
1.3. Currently, the reserve museum includes 11 museums and a historical and cultural complex:
- Museum of the History of Architecture of St. Sophia Cathedral
- Museum of Belarusian Book Printing
- Museum-Library of Simeon Polotskiy
- Art Gallery
- Stationary exhibition "Walk along Nizhne-Pokrovskaya"
- Museum of Traditional Hand Weaving of Poozerye
- Museum of Military Glory
- Museum-apartment of the Hero of the Soviet Union Z.M. Tusnolobovoy-Marchenko
- Children's Museum
- Natural and Environmental Museum
- Historical and cultural complex "Field of military glory" (village Gomel, Polotsk district).
1.4. The museums of the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve are open to visitors every day, except Mondays (closed), from 10.00 to 17.00, from June 1 to August 31 to 18.00. The sale of entrance tickets and the booking of excursions ends at 4.30 pm (in the summer at 17.30 pm).
1.5. Payment for all types of services is detailed in the price list.
1.6. The entrance ticket assumes a one-time visit to the museum exposition. For a repeat visit on the same day, a new entrance ticket is purchased.
1.7. Organization of excursion activities in museums is carried out by the excursion department of the museum-reserve.
1.8. Excursion service of museum expositions of the reserve is carried out both on the basis of a preliminary application and on a first come, first served basis. At the same time, groups that have not placed an order are served after the declared groups.
1.9. Excursion services in museums are carried out only by researchers of the museum-reserve.
1.10. The reserve's museums may be closed to visitors during official events or for technical reasons.
1.11. Distribution of printed materials, advertisements in the museums of the reserve is allowed only by prior agreement with the administration.
1.12. These rules can be changed if circumstances arise that lead to a change in the practice of excursion services in the museums of the reserve.

2. Rules for visiting expositions and exhibitions of the Museum-Reserve

By purchasing an admission ticket, visitors agree to abide by these Rules.
2.1. Visitors have the right to:
- visit the museums of the reserve in accordance with their working hours and use their services;
- to make film, video, photography without flash with an amateur camera within the boundaries allowed for passage.
2.2. Visitors are required to:
- keep tickets until the end of the inspection of the museum exposition and exhibitions and show them at the first request of the staff of the museum-reserve; - observe the order and priority;
- observe silence, not create situations that may affect the safety of museum items and interfere with the service of other excursion groups, visitors and the work of guides;
- to observe the working hours of the reserve's museums, to leave the exhibition halls at the request of the museum curator in connection with the end of the museum expositions and putting them under protection, as well as in other emergency situations;
- in case of discovery of neglected things and objects, immediately inform the staff of the museum-reserve about it and not take independent actions to remove them;
- to comply with the requirements of the staff of the museum-reserve and employees of the security department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to maintain public order.
Parents and other accompanying persons need to control the behavior of children, to ensure that they comply with the rules of conduct in the museum.
Employees have the right to terminate the excursion if the rules (rules) of conduct are not followed.
2.3. Visitors are prohibited from:
- enter the exposition and exhibition halls with backpacks and large bags, food and drinks;
- bring firearms, stabbing and cutting objects, explosive, flammable, flammable objects, poisonous and caustic substances;
- go with animals;
- run; - touch the exhibits and museum equipment, go behind the fences;
- smoking;
- be in a state of alcoholic, drug or toxic intoxication;
- use mobile communication and talk loudly;
- to enter service and production premises;
- make video and photography using additional equipment without the permission of the administration;
- to produce audio and video of the excursion.
Visitors who refuse to comply with these Rules can be removed from the museums of the reserve without refund of the ticket price.

3. Rights of the Museum-Reserve

The Museum-Reserve has the right to:
- to change the duration of the exposition upward or downward with prior notification of visitors;
- to refuse service to persons in a state of alcoholic, drug or toxic intoxication;
- to reduce the duration of excursion services in case of a significant increase in the flow of tourists;
- to close expositions or separate rooms in connection with official events or for technical reasons.

4. The list of categories of citizens entitled to free and preferential visits to the museums of the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve

4.1. The list of categories of citizens entitled to free admission to the museum:
- disabled people of 1, 2 groups;
- veterans of the Great Patriotic War;
- conscripts of military service;
- children under 7 years old;
- orphans, children who have been left without parental care, as well as persons accompanying them;
- persons with special features of psychophysical development;
- persons accompanying organized groups: students receiving preschool, general secondary, secondary specialized, vocational education at the rate of two accompanying persons per group; full-time students - one accompanying person per group;
- museum staff, members of ICOM.
4.2. Persons receiving general secondary, specialized secondary, vocational and higher education, full-time education, have the right to preferential visits.
4.3. Citizens who have the right to a free and preferential visit to the museum-reserve must present the relevant documents at the museum's ticket office.

5. Final provisions

5.1. Persons who violate the procedure established by these Rules will be held accountable in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
5.2. Persons who have caused losses to the Museum-Reserve are obliged to compensate for the damage (loss or damage to property) in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
